The custom-built bipolar tuners handle Bands I, III, IV, and V using p-i-n diode switching and varicap-diode tuning. It supports 625 and 525 line standards with field rates of 50 or 60 Hz, and offers IF selections of 4.5, 5.5, or 6 MHz. With separate, collapsible VHF and UHF antennas, the tuner's sensitivity was sufficient to deliver a decent image inside the steel-structured Savoy Hotel.
